Writing task 2 for Band 7-Essay Evaluation.
IELTS writing task-2 essay requires a different skill set than “writing” whatever comes in mind. By the way, I would like to inform you that after a long research and trying many methods with my students for the last 10 years, I finally got simple IELTS Writing preparation method that really works to get over band 7.
Students often ask how to improve an IELTS essay from a band 6 to a band 7 (and similarly for the TOEFL essay). The answer is not simple, especially since the difference between a full band score is quite large and depends on several factors, namely the four scoring criteria for the IELTS writing section.
Sample essay 2: Band 7 Some people say that the Internet is making the world smaller by bringing people together. To what extent do you agree that the internet is making it easier for people to communicate with one another? Due to the advancement of technology new inventions are coming into existence in this modern era.
It does not mean that the particular sentence given above (without collocation) cannot be a part of a 7 band essay. A good essay consists of simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences. Such a response includes both sentences with collocations and those without them.
The British Invasion was a musical movement, which consisted of English rock and roll bands that found fame in both the United Kingdom and the United States. The British Invasion bands did not receive recognition right away, however. In fact, many bands attempted to copy the American style of rock in the 1950’s, although many had little success.
